Growing Identity

Weaving identity.

Through drawing I wanted to explore different materials and mediums to produce art. The title for the drawing was ' brave steps' and it was my chance to be brave in terms of experimentation. I photographed hands in an uncomfortable and confronting manner where they come out at the viewer. The hands appear aggressive and contain almost animalistic claw qualities. To add to the drawing I started embroidering ribbon within the fingernails. Experimenting with ribbon took me out of my comfort zone in a good way which thus ignited sparks for the next drawings to come. I moved out of relying on the reference and solemnly relied on my inner desire to go ahead with new art forms and materials.

My main point of advice would be to explore different materials until you feel a sense of satification with the art you are producing. Keep on keeeping on.
