The work of veil boarder in particular serves as a question of beauty to the elite Muslim community regarding simplicity. The veil represented in this artwork is fashion famous and poses the question of its use as a veil? Fashion? Beauty enhancer? Status?
Mounted above a standard Quraan boarder the point is reinforced and the viewer is confronted with its meaning.
I began by playing with the aspect of limits, confinements and expectations of beauty by taking something known for its adornment properties, scrubbing, staining, washing away and tearing from it so that the viewer’s perspective is forced a new.

I practice along the lines of abstract with moments of complete control. A use of both traditional as well as non-traditional drawing materials are uses to reinforce the content embedded within my works.
